Bad Build Quality
Note: for reference this GPU is an internal fan GPU or gigabyte custom cooler, the standard nvidia model with one fan and a silver or black body are called founders edition with an external blower type coolers that sucks air in via one fan and blows it out the back. I bought a Gigabyte 980ti G1 Windforce 3 that houses the same 3 set of fans as this, one and a half years ago. Here's an update: one of the fans broke off the spindle. The fans on gigabyte graphics card are poorly made. I inspected how it broke and noticed the shredded thin plastic clamp that held the fan to the spindle as it spun at 2000 rpm. It was only a matter of time before it broke. To anyone who wants to buy a GPU I would recommend getting a founder's edition card as my last founders edition card died after 8 years and in all that time the blower fan continued to work properly. If that is not possible then an asus or evga model is a lot better then gigabyte cards as they are not very durable. I currently reattached the fan with depoxi, do not use elfie it is brittle when it dries. The other problem is that after 1 year I noticed the temprature of the GPU was rising by 10 degrees. Gigabyte does not use good quality thermal paste. I had to remove the cooler off the GPU and reapply the thermal paste (I used arctic silver 5 which has a burn-in time of 1 week). The thermal paste is already doing it's magic. 2 days after application my GPU idle temprature has dropped from 55 degrees to 36 degrees. Sorry to say if u bought a gigabyte DO NOT IGNORE ANY NOISE FROM UR GPU FANS. ribbon wires under the rotating fans touching even slightly will be enough to tear off the fan.
